We are seeking an experienced Loss Control Engineer V to support safety operations across complex data center construction and retrofit projects. The ideal candidate will have strong Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) expertise, experience in mission-critical environments, and the ability to collaborate strategically with construction teams, contractors, and internal stakeholders.

Candidates with owner-side construction safety experience are strongly preferred. Professionals from general contractor backgrounds will also be considered if they demonstrate significant experience managing safety on large-scale, complex construction projects.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Coordinate, train, and mentor onsite construction teams and internal stakeholders to implement effective safety measures.

• Conduct risk assessments for retrofit projects and develop safe work execution plans.

• Monitor site safety programs and collaborate with project teams to maintain a zero-incident work environment.

• Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis (RCA), and corrective action reporting.

• Establish and maintain strong cross-functional relationships to promote safety and operational excellence.

• Ensure internal safety processes are followed and project delivery expectations are aligned.

• Develop and implement robust safety processes, standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to evaluate the safety and quality impacts of new designs, materials, and construction methods.

• Provide strategic safety guidance across complex construction projects while ensuring compliance with established safety programs.

• Support safety oversight across multiple nearby sites as needed.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience working in mission-critical environments, including knowledge of proactive safety methodologies.

• Experience working within comprehensive construction safety programs.

• Demonstrated success implementing Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) improvement initiatives.

• Proven ability to collaborate with contractors and multidisciplinary teams to drive safety improvements and organizational change.

• Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems associated with data center construction.

• Knowledge of construction industry standards, including fast-track design-build processes, project documentation, and contracts.

• Familiarity with ground-up construction and greenfield site development requirements.

• Experience with retrofit projects in live mission-critical environments or occupied facilities.

• Experience conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning.

• Certification recognized by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP).

• Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Ability to travel to nearby project sites and accommodate occasional shift flexibility.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Construction Safety and Health Technician (CHST) certification.

• Previous owner-side safety experience overseeing large-scale construction projects.

• Extensive experience supporting complex data center construction or other mission-critical infrastructure projects.

• General contractor safety experience involving large-scale, technically complex builds and strategic safety oversight.

• Experience developing safety standards, implementing continuous improvement programs, and driving cross-functional safety initiatives.

• Demonstrated ability to influence contractors and project stakeholders while maintaining high safety standards throughout construction and retrofit activities.
